Amsterdam: hotel for Friday night only: impossible?

Any suggestions for a cheap hotel for a Friday night stopover in
Amsterdam (26 Sept) before I catch my flight on Saturday afternoon.
Looking for a single room 50/60 Euros, 1 night. Basic accommodation in
reasonably safe area.
Can't find anything on bookings.nl
All A'dam hotels seem booked at weekends, or go up in price, or need
to book for the whole weekend.

Any suggestions? Try the Tourist office at A'dam Centraal when I
arrive on Friday?

Does it have to be Amsterdam? How about spending the night in Haarlem? It
won't have all the night life, but there are a couple coffee shops and it
is a charming little city.

Thanks, Don. But I've managed to book somewhere via the web for 70
Euros. Cheaper hotels and hostels are available in the red light end
of town, but as its my 1st visit I'm not sure of what they will be
like, so I've opted for a more boring choice!
Likewise Haarlem -- maybe its something I could explore on a 2nd visit
when I might have more time and know the lie of the land better.
