Question

We are looking for a place like Provo, with a great beach yet easy to get
to. No addition puddle jumpers to outer islands.

Any recomendations?

I'm not sure you'll find it in the Caribbean. Most islands have a
tropical climate, high heat, high humidity but cooled by ocean breezes.
Maybe Baja on Mexico's west coast? Parts of Aruba are arid but much
hotter than Provo.

You're excluding some of the best places in the Caribbean if you exclude
islands that are not served directly from the US. Pity!
