Default hotel at newark airport with convenient connection to manhattan??

dear fellow travelers,
we will be in NYseptember 8untill 10 and are looking for a hotel. As we are
travelling to Oregon, we are looking for a place to stay at or close to the
airport so we won't have to carry our luggage to the city.
I have seen so many reviews I seem to have lost track of things.
Could you help me out? what hotel is the most suitable to go to Manhattan?
should we consider taking the ferry? or go by train. Any advise is highly
appreciated.
Thank you ,
Franca, the Netherlands.

I don't know how much luggage you have but I would strongly recommend
staying in the city. That way you won't have to worry about getting
back to the hotel late at night.

Go to http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and search for Newark Airport and
you will see a lot of hotels with their reviews. Most have
transportation between them and the airport where you can catch the
train or a bus to Manhattan. It will be a lot cheaper to stay there
than downtown and you can also use either www.hotwire.com or
www.priceline.com to get them even cheaper. To take the ferry, you
need to get to Hoboken and you would need to take a train to get there
from the airport if you want to do it inexpensively. Not worth it in
my opinion. I don't know your age, but if you are 60 or older you can
get a quite cheap senior rate. Go to www.njtransit.com for train
info.

It's no problem getting back at night. The trains go to 2 am and you
will pay a LOT more to stay in the city.
