Has any other started charging for soft drinks in coach or dropped the
elite bonus miles that Moe Larry and curly have done at useless air

Some Airlines have ALWAYS charged for soft drinks.

Ryanair and EasyJet. Which, as an American, you may never have heard of but
both are much larger, in terms of passengers carried, than US Air.

I know of them, but have never flown them. US carriers didn't charge, but
that's changing fast.
I flew a few domestic flights in Europe, and was surprised when the served a
meal.
