Default Asia cruise with Princess.....Royal Princess or Pacific Princess??

We want to book a cruise to Asia in june 2004 with the pacific princess or
in november 2004 with the royal princess. Does anybody have experience with
these ships? The pacific is newer but smaller.....is that a good option?
I only have experience with the very large ships as the Century or the
Majesty of the Seas.....I have the idea that a smaller ship isn't that much
fun.....especially with a lot of days at sea...
And the Royal princess is 20 years old! Can anybody tell me if that shows??

I have been in a bit of the same predicament concerning the Royal
Princess. There is a thread above with claims ranging from total
rustbucket with backed-up toilets, to nicely restored and delightful.
Princess certainly has some nice itineraries on her.

I have an idea -- you cruise on her and tell me how it is!

The Pacific Princess is the R2, purchased from Renaissance when it
went bankrupt. There is not the same size or variety of activities as
a large ship, but they do have a show of sorts at night, a casino, and
such. The pool is wonderful. I think it would be my choice,
especially on that excellent Asian itinerary in June. Actually, I'd
join you except my wife can't get off in June

I'm more into relaxing than activities so to me, the former R ships are the
perfect size. This is particularly true on a "busy" cruise. I really
enjoyed being able to get anywhere on the ship in just a minute or so. They
have a nice mix of comfort and class. It's got my vote.
