Caribbean Cruise Maps?

This is a VERY scary request in these times .... Not to be on the paranoid
side...but why in the world would you need this???

I seriously hope this info is not available to the public......

I can tell you one reason. On the only cruise I've ever been on, I brought
an AM/SW/LW radio (Shortwave and Longwave). I was getting LW beacons, and it
would've been nice to know my rough Latitude and Longitude, so I could've
worked out distance and bearings. Also knowing the Lat/Lon helps aim a radio
for trying for different stations. That's one reason. Eric KA6USJ

There is nothing secret about it.

I have a GPS that shows you the location anywhere you want it during any
cruise. Plus, many new ships (like Norwegian Dawn) have the GPS
readings on the TV at all times. I think the old Zenith did as well
this season. Further, the Zenith and Century both had British Admiralty
Charts on display that showed the actual route.

If you want an idea of the route, just look at any navigation chart.
Most of the ocean "highways" are displayed.

To keep the routes "secret" would actually be the scary part. It would
be dangerous, if you WEREN'T using the appropriate shipping routes.

One of my hoobies is broadcast band DXing, so I brought along a Radio Shack
DX-398 (Seangean made) radio with me on my last trip. I had to hold the
radio in my hands and lean slightly over the side of the balcony in order to
get a decent signal; obviously that got a bit tiring. I'm not sure a ham
rig would fare much better.

I had brought a Sony 2010 on the trip. Unfortunately for me, I dropped it.
It worked OK on LW for awhile, but AM and SW were goners. Later both LW,
Air, and FM went. Sony *tried* to repair it (twice it came back worse than
it went in, or was it three?). Finally, after going to a TV stations
consumer help gathering, Sony finally sent me a *new* receiver. (I have the
feeling it might have been refurbished as it's never been as sensitive as my
first one.) I also have a Sangean 909 (RS DX-398), as well as a Yaesu
VR-500. (Just remembered, I also have a Sony 7600D I got in a thrift store
for $10.) Those two were very good eBay bargains.

As to ham radio. I've never been on the air. Lack of equipment there and
lack of space for a number of years. But I will get there one day, so the
license will keep being renewed (really should upgrade though).

Sorry I took so long to get back. Don't know if I'll ever get to cruise
again, but it's fun reading the posts here. Do any of the lines allow ham
radio usage on board (HF would probably be out, but VHF/UHF would be fun.
