Default Accomodation on Oahu

Hi everyone,
We will be spending 3 nights on Oahu and aren't real keen to stay in the
traditional tourist spots. We are after any recommendations for somewhere
quiet, reasonably cheap ($50-100/night), close to the beach, and somewhere
to have a nice cold beer or three.

Are there such places outside Honolulu?

Greg,

The Kailua-Lanikai area has a great beach and many condo's. Plenty of
restaurants as well. However, it may be difficult to find something for
less then $100/night.

There is the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu, but, you didn't
say what time of year you are traveling, so it's difficult to give a price
estimate, but, $100 sounds unrealistic for that venue. If you'd like to look
at the many bed and breakfast locations on Oahu, you are invited to visit my
Oahu webpage and click on the "Honolulu Bed and Breakfast" link (the graphic

The webpage is: http://keith.martin.home.att.net/vOahu.html - where you'll
find no advertising, no cookies, no pop-ups and nothing for sale. Bon
voyage! KM

The lowest category at the Turtle Bay Resort (Oceanfront Standard, which
has no lanai) has a rack rate of approx. $295 a night.

Yes, there's another very nice hotel near Nanikuli whose name escapes me at
the moment, but, as I recall it's even more pricey. KM

I'm sure you'll get lots of responses to the contrary, but I'd suggest
checking out the 'Outrigger' hotels online. Thety have a lot in the
Waikiki are and on Oahu there is isn't really much else for what you
want. We're going next mnth for 4 weeks and having been there many
times before have a little bit of knowledge of the area. Enjoy!
