You can't? Odd that you would claim that, because I did, in fact get a
valid US passport without a valid birth certificate - indeed, without
any birth certificate at all.

And how, exactly, did you get that?

And what's the place of birth listed on it?

It's dishonest to attempt to attribute to someone material that
they didn't write.

I guess now but I never had a valid birth certificate until
I applied for French nationality, I was over 50 at that time.

Prior to that I only had a hospital certificate of birth.
The French refused this document and I had to hunt down my original in the
Cook County office of records. In doing this I found
that my family name was misspelled on the certificate!
But the French accepted this, they wanted a document with a stamp on it,
"minor" faults did not bother them.

So somehow and I got my first US passport in the early 1960s
supplying some documentation, but it was not as big a deal
then as now. Since then it has been renewals which each
renewed passport riding on the back of the previous ones
like the earth riding the back of a turtle, who is riding
on the back of another turtle, etc. all the way down.

I checked the US government site on first passports and

Certified birth certificate*issued by the city, county or state*
Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
*Naturalization Certificate
*Certificate of Citizenship

I taken this to mean one of those? Thus if one has either a
Naturalization Certificate or *Certificate of Citizenship
that could be used in case a valid birth certificate is not available.

In in the early 1960s I had NONE of the above, so the rules
have changed.

I noticed once coming across the border from Mexico into
California the border people will ask you "where you were born"
no real evidence required.

I was tempted at times like that to say, using a fake
Mexican accent, "Chicago, Senor"

But that was in my imagination only.

I have long found that the best thing with the immigration services
is answer their questions without explanation using a minimal
number of words. My wife, a former civil servant pushed me
that direction by recounting stories of her interviews with
those asking for unemployment insurance. Sometimes they
would talk themselves into trouble.

US INS sometimes looks at my passport and ovesea's address
and asked

"And what to you do Earl?"

I hate people who don't know me using my first name, it
is phony friendly.

Anyway, to that question I just respond "retired".

And SMILE, one is not American unless one smiles a lot.

One thing for sure (and we were advised by the
State Department) is to never show our French
passports along with the American to INS officials.
They can go bonkers. They don't know the law and think
they do. One Syrian friend, having both US and Syrian
passports accidentally displayed his Syrian at the
US-Canadian frontier an the officious INS officer
forced him to destroy "now" his Syrian.

Nor do I go into passport display mode entering or
leaving France. With the airline traveler interviews
they also get officious and if you display your
US passport leaving France they will get excited
about your not having a visa. So out comes
the French passport. However in passing passport
control one never shows both.

Speaking of proof, where is Obama proof of his original birth
certificate. Or his transcript? Or his passport?

Well one assumes he has a US passport as he travelled abroad extensively
on one before he became President.

You can't actually get a valid US passport without a valid birth
certificate.

So that solves the first one and the last one.

What on earth is a 'transcript'?

A 'transcript' is an American term, it is the record of one's college
grades, which one sends on if one is transferring from one college or
another, or which one may present to a potential employer.

Actually, he was born in space. All his life, he's been called "The
October Surprise".

That was a Bill joke, Donna.

Within itself, simply restating the claim to prove the subpoint is
at least potentially funny, especially if produced in deadpan
enough manner, but this is actually part of a larger theme tying in
George Bush Sr, the SR71 Blackbird, the Space Baby from "2001" and
probably Henry Kissinger. It is a sustained parody of Liberal loons
and their idiotic conspiracy theories which incorporates the
idiotic Obama conspiracy theories of some on the right into those
of the left and is ultimately intended to level the field. Both
sides have their nutbugs.

The following Wiki cite,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October...spiracy_theory ,
doesn't even begin to crack the fantasies about the supposed
"October Surprise" events that Liberals have postulated online over
the years, although it's worth reading as backgrounder.

How can you take that statement literally when you positively know
that I'm not a Birther and have repeatedly made fun of the whole
thing?
