Not Austria, but we've done this kind of thing in Germany (Upper
Bavaria, Franken)
5 day walking tours, around 20 km per day, we stayed in small hotels.
Very good food, very economical.

Hi
Hiking without luggage is normally very good in Austria. I have tried
in the region of Dachstein-Tauern - this is surround Schladming. It
was very nice, because the luggage was transported from the
hotel-owner from hotel to the next. It was really very confortable.
And the landscape in this area was really exciting.

Go for it, but be be sure you know exactly what is and what is not
provided.

I have had 9 'without luggage' hikes in Italy and Spain - all with ATG
Oxford (
www.alternative-travel.co.uk/) - both self-guided and
accompanied.

Phil

P.S. If I go on a 10th trip with ATG I get the 11th one free!
