Ron,

EVA doesn't have any American partner. (Well, it is only 188

miles
from Kaohsiung (KHH) to Taipei (TPE or TSA)) EVA has another

Taiwanese
partner, with 757, to operate the route, KHH-TSA (or TPE).

Formosa Airlines operates mostly routes among islets with turbo
propellers, and has some crashes during the past 10 years. Her

reputation
is quite notorious, though there is no recent crash heard from

Formosa
Airlines.

If I were you, I would take express train from Taipei to Taichung

(about 2.5 hours) and from Taichung to Kaohsiung (about 3 hours).

Remember
not to take bus from Taipei to Tiachung - bus runs very frequent,

but
traffic jam on highway sometimes is too terrible.

Have a nice trip to Taiwan

Ahh Eva has an American Partners acutally 3 American Airlines,
Continental Airlines and America West
