Thailand's Passenger Service Charge Scam
Sjoerd schrieb:
Yes. The Indonesian minister of Justice "hates the Dutch" (quote from an interview with this guy late last year) so he arranged for the Netherlands not to be included on the visa on arrival list. Apparently, he also hates the Swedes, Irish, Belgians, Austrians, Spanish, Portuguese and Greeks, as these EU nationals also can not get a visa on arrival. I have some experience with the visa "service" at the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague. I expect many Dutch people will change their travel plans and go to more welcoming places. (Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.) But of course, the many Dutch people of Indonesian origin will have to suffer the visa "service" (and most probably pay a few euros here and there) to be allowed to visit their mother country. This is a problem also between Germany (schengen) and CIs countries. Unless you remain a double national, which is unwanted, you have to get a visa for every trip. Nevertheless, Ukraine offers 5-year-visas to former inhabitants. Regards & X-post, ULF |
