Interesting. I wonder how their prices vary from the deals available
on the usual sites?

If their prices are reasonable, this sound like a great idea and a much
needed improvement.

As I am currently looking at a December cruise on Princess out of San Juan
PR (SJU) I compared prices for the restricted fare and actually they showed
a cheaper fare than booking online. BWI-SJU was $644.30 for two RT online
and through Princess showed $603. I haven't booked through Princess yet and
it doesn't show if their displayed fare has all taxes and fees on the screen
that I was looking at. The web site does say "Here you may browse available
flights for information purpose only. You may book flights once your cruise
booking is complete." Even with add-on taxes and fees the flights would be
competitive.

From Princess's FAQ
"Princess eZAirSM
As part of Princess Cruises' continuous commitment to service and
innovation, we are pleased to introduce the new Princess eZAirSM program.
Princess eZAirSM offers real-time, competitively-priced flights that
complement your cruise itinerary. It also offers Next Port Protection -
something not offered by other major air booking websites. Benefits include:

- Next Port Protection - We'll work with the airline to route you to the
next appropriate port of call in the event of a flight delay or cancellation
at no additional air cost to you.
- Immediate flight confirmations - Confirm flight schedule at the time of
booking.
- No extra customization fees - Choose the airline, class and seat you
prefer at no additional cost.
- Two pricing options - Compare both pricing options (Flexible or
Restricted) side-by-side.

Princess eZAirSM will be in effect for virtually all Princess voyages
sailing after September 1, 2010. Any existing air booked on the previous
FlightChoice Program will be moved to the Flexible pricing option of
Princess eZAirSM. Any existing air booked on the previous FlightChoice Plus
Program will be honored and protected under the existing terms."

Cool.

....and I also wonder about other lines. Although Carnival Corp's lines
operate semi-independently, I believe that Princess and Cunard share
many operations and wonder if we may see this on Cunard next.

I would guess that if it works well for Princess, otherr cruise lines
will try and do the same thing.

As a follow-up to my original in reference to the posted amounts including
taxes and fees, I was told by the Princess representative for TAs that the
amount shown on the web site IS including taxes and fees. If this really
holds true (and I have no reason to doubt it) the prices are really
competitive but do change daily. I have booked my 14 night on the Caribbean
Princess Dec 5th. out of SJU. Checking daily for airfare pricing as it
jumped both on Princess eZAir and other sources $80 PP in one day for the
same flights. That again is not unusual. The thing I like about the eZAir
program is that if you are delayed they will get you to the ship and the
cost of their insurance includes any air booked through eZAir program.
