Default Best Cabins on Ships...

Hello All -

I have searched and searched to no avail, to find the website which posted about 'best or better' cabins on various ships and if they represented good value etc..

I Am particularly interested, at the moment, for Azamara Quest (8/13). This ship appears to be a category above where I do not want to be and a category below of where I would love to be... ;-)

TIA for any input or direction you can provide...

Janet - Thank you for the link. I have been there and this site gives the best cabin deck by deck, which is very useful. Alas, the site I Am seeking provided only three or four cabins on a ship and provided the reasons they were considered the best due to value and situation. i.e. it advised that on Crystal Symphony, cabins 8076 & 8077 ere the best for value and had the least unobstructed view on that level.. of course those cabins were booked for most of a 27 night cruise and not the segments I wanted... ;-)

Thank you again for your input. btw looks like spammers have taken over... is this group no longer moderated?

Never was moderated. It is just that a lot of folks shifted to social
media and abandoned here. While that does get rid of spammers, it also
seems to shut off the spirited discussions that once were the driving
force here.

Shame too ... I used to like the information I got here and I really get
nothing FROM THE OTHER PLACE but a bunch of schmoozing.

I am sure you've been told this before, and I will tell you again. Go to
Cruise Critic. You will likely find a discussion on the best cabins on
the ship you are interested in, and if it isn't there, you can ask about
your specific choices.

Bill,

Thank you for the input. I have been to cruise critic many times and it does not address the questions about cabins, as I have seen before on another site. Specifically, I seek input about the best cabin(s) for value on the ship(s) requested which are unbiased. For example, the web site I speak of gave a true value in cabins on one ship as being two specific cabins on the where the life boats hang. What made this an absolute value is, these cabins have 'unobstructed views' at an obstructed view price.

I will return, once again to Cruise Critics to see if this type of information is there, I do not recollect seeing it. I want information on cabins based on values and not assignment after booking.

Thank you very much for your input and information.

On Cruise Critic you can ask about a specific cabin. As far as the site you
are asking about never heard of it but I suggest in the future that if you
find a web site you find helpful then you need to bookmark the site.

As far as cabins with unobstructed views at obstructed view prices a good
travel agent can tell you that. Or look at the deck plans yourself. I have
picked them myself several times easily. They are the obstructed view
cabins on the deck with the life boats not right behind the life boats.
They are partially obstructed but there is still a view. You can pick those
cabins yourself.

As you always ask about luxury or other upscale cruise lines I am not sure
why a value cabin is that important to you. Likely those upscale lines
don't have those kind of value cabins or many of them. I have been on the
sister ship of the Azamara Quest you asked about, Azamara Journey and
offhand without looking at the deck plan I doubt you will find a cabin on
her that is priced like that. But again look at the deck plan yourself.
Those kind of cabins usually can be seen on the plans. If you want a good
value on Azamara you need to time your booking to when there is a sale.
Often they offer deals on airfare if you book a balcony or higher cabin.
Get on their email list. I get email sales from them every week or two. .

At home and I looked at the Azamara Quest deck plans. On deck 6 there
are Obstructed view cabins in Cat. 08. Looking at the plans they all
look pretty obstructed to me. Cabins 6036 and 6039 might have some
view. 6046 and 6049 could have some view. 6033 and 6030 have some very
small boats so maybe there is some view. You could post a question
about those cabins on Cruise Critic. Ask if anyone has been in them and
if there is any view.

I can sure agree with that, Ray. This group used to be full of
information with lots of helpful people. It seems to me that the first
wave of trouble was when most service providers stopped offering
newsgroups. Some members either didn't know how, or didn't want to
bother to find another way here. It didn't seem to stop the spammers and
trolls though and many more "members" moved to moderated social networks
to avoid all the useless posts. It just isn't the same.
