Not when I went But if the rule in still there on paper, they MAY enforce it. So worthwhile to find that out from the consulate first. A few years ago I had a similar problem - travel to Thailand for 5 months on a dual entry tourist visa, first entry no problem as passport expired 6 months from date of entry, but upon second entry (after 60 days to renew visa), passport would be within 6 months of expiry. The people at the consulate I spoke to (I spoke to one in Houston and a couple in CHicago), said it was entirely possible it wouldn't be enforced, but that it was still the rule (I renewed in Bangkok in one day, solved the problem) Also, it's the airline whom is supposed to be checking these things before letting you board, and if the rule is there, they may follow it. Call the consulate, or look on the website to find the exact terms. If the rule is thee, don't leave it to chance. Just renew it now. |

My son's passport expires on Jan. 4, 2004. Will he have a problem visiting Paris during Thanksgiving? He very well might. Many countries require a passport with at least 6 months validity still on it. If it expires on Jan 4th, then this could be a problem. You should check with the French Embassy/Consulate or the travel agent |

You should check with the French Embassy/Consulate or the travel agent since there is plenty of time why not just get the new passport? |
