I would like to hear more feedback from anyone that has sailed on the
Carnival Victory.
We are booked for September 11 - 18 out of Miami. This will be our second
cruise. Our
first was on the NCL Dreamward (Norwegian Dream, now). We liked the
Dreamward due
to it's coziness and it was not crowded.

Victory is one of the Destiny (sometimes referred to as Density) class
sister ships. They are the opposite of "not crowded" and "cozy". They are
high density ships with close to 3500 people when fully loaded. Many places
on the ship (like the photo gallery) get so jam packed that they tend to
feel claustrophobic. To fit extra people in the dining room they use a lot
of booths in place of larger dining tables.

I recall reading that they are the biggest money makers for Carnival because
of the large number of people that they hold.

The ship was very easy to get around on except in order to get to our
cabin from the Terraces dining room, we had to to up one deck or down one
deck due to the ballroom location. We do plan on doing more cruises now
since we are retired.
My dream cruise is New York, eastern seaboard, Bahamas, Eastern and
Western Carib, Canal, up the West Coast to Seattle or Vancouver. Stops
along the way but a few sea days enroute.
One day we will do it IF there is a Line that does that run on a
repositioning cruise.

Tom,

Not sure I understand how you arrived at your "3500" count for pax.
When I looked up the Destiny on cruisemates.com, it shows a pax capacity
of 2642, length 893 feet, weight 102K tons. Compared to the Conquest,
on which I cruised last year--110K tons, 952 feet, and 2974 pax. Never
felt crowded on the Conquest. It would seem that the Destiny shouldn't
be that much more densely packed than the Conquest. However, I do note
that the Destiny is a couple of decks shorter than the Conquest.

But, what do I know?!?! Going on the Destiny next week--5/1. Will post
my impressions afterward.
