Terry Dunno about the shark tank bit - I haven't done it myself, but I would bet its like diving in a shark tank anywhere else in the world. My suggestions would include: On a nice day, walk from Bondi to Tamarama or Bronte around the headland. Visit Taronga Zoo - one of the best in the world. Take a ferry trip around the inner harbour, or all the way to Manly. (Don't bother with an overpriced tourist cruise - its all the same harbour). Have a picnic lunch in the Botanical Gardens (right next to the opera house). Take in a late night strip show at Kings Cross (if your straight) or cruise King St Newtown (if your gay). Go to Paddington markets in Oxford St on a Saturday, and take in the whole Oxford St scene. Splurge on a couple of good restaurants - excellent value by international standards Visit the fish markets (near the city), buy some cooked food and eat it outside HTH Peter Webb |

Although Sydney can be very nice by day in the middle of winter (August), standing on the Opera House forecourt at night with the wind coming down the harbour will be very beautiful but also possibly also quite chilly. Take a warm waterproof jacket for night as well as a light rainproof thing for daytime. |

Incredible scenic value for the price of a commuter ticket. Get off the ferry at Manly and walk a few hundred metres for a swim at Manly beach. Also, the viewing level at Australia Square - take your camera. Cheers, Alan -- |

The pub in Watson's Bay is always worth while, especially on Sunday where
you sit in the beer garden listening to jazz, drinking and eatin' fish. Take a ferry that goes to Watson's Bay. You want the pub, not Doyles! It's expensive. ant |

Take the 324/5 bus in the opposite direction to look at some pretty expensive real estate. -- Tony Bailey Mercury Travel Books |
