Can someone give me an idea of Ground Transport options and costs from
Dorval to the downtown (business) district -- around rue Sherbrooke.

Thx.

Public transit: This is the cheapest way, with a fare of $2.50
(exact change). Get a transfer (free) when you board the bus.
Take the 204 bus from the airport to the Dorval bus/train station,
the 211 bus from there to Lionel-Groulx metro (subway) station, then
the metro green line, direction Honoré-Beaugrand. The metro will
take you through several stations on de Maisonneuve Blvd. downtown.
It's parallel to Sherbrooke and two blocks south. Which station to
get off at depends on your exact destination.
The 211 bus and the metro are reasonably frequent and fast, but
the 204 runs infrequently, and though it's not far from the airport
to the Dorval bus/train station, this first leg will be the
bottleneck. There's no special place for luggage on the buses and
metro, which could be incovenient if you have a lot of it.

Airport shuttle bus: $12 one-way, $21.75 round trip. Runs from
the airport to the "Aérobus station" downtown (University and la
Gauchetière, next to Central Station, the intercity train station).
From there, there's a free shuttle to the major downtown hotels,
several of which are on Sherbrooke (e.g the Ritz-Carlton at
Sherbrooke and Drummond). This service uses intercity-type buses,
with luggage compartments below the floor of the bus, and the
driver handles your bags.

Taxi: $28, plus tip, from the airport to downtown.
