Default how is US 64 near Highlands NC?

Hello,
Wanted to take a road trip to see the NC
highlands and waterfalls. I hear the waterfalls
are on US 64 north of GA.

Has anyone driven on this road near Highlands NC?

How curvy/steep does it get? Are there any spots to avoid?

I've driven lookount mountain near the GA-TN border.
Was a nice, scenic road, a bit curvy. Does it compare to
lookout mountain or is it steeper/curvier??

Thank you,
c
