Default end of cruise question

Is there a time that one must leave the boat on the last day? Our plane
doesn't leave until almost 3, so there is no rush.

Thanks

You can hang out for a while, but they want the ship cleared ASAP so
they can turn her around. besides there isn't much to do when everything
is shut down and guests are expected to get off when called. I suspect
one can hang out until the last group is called after that security is
looking for you, and probably not happy.

In Feb, we did two one-week back to back cruises on Princess and so
got to see how this all went since those of us staying on were taken
off after the last group of leavers to go through Customs etc.

They called all the groups, then a "Final call..all passengers remaing
please disembark immediately etc. Then for about fifteen minutes they
were calling individual names. I was expecting a "Get off the ship
NOW or we sell your clothing and luggage on Ebay!", but they managed
to locate everyone finally.

With the computerized systems, they'll know exactly who might still be
on board and since legally they can't begin new boarding until they
are certain there's no one remaining who is unaccounted, they're going
to get pretty thorough...we were waiting as a group in one lounge and
requested not to leave the area during the short interval between
"everyone off" and our going ashore. Makes it easy to spot passengers
unless you want to try and steal a ship's crew badge or something and
try to "blend in".

Around 10:30 they apparenlty had everyone off as we finally got to go
down and do our thing and come back on board, by which time they were
beginning to process oncoming passengers as well.

I'd suspect that by 10 or 10:30 on most ships, they are chasing the
stragglers off with a broom but nothing says you can't lounge back
until they *do* call "All remaining passengers...".

I must say, Princess did a (mostly) spendid job in handling the twnety
or so assorted people remaining to go on the next leg. There was some
initial confusion about when we'd be leaving the ship and we spent a
half hour sitting in the lounge before someone came and told everyone
it would be at least an hour and that they'd announce it so we
scattered back to our cabins etc (lounge was in the casino and stank
badly of stale cigarette smoke.) And there was minor confusion
getting off the ship as to exactly where we were supposed to go but
nothing to get hot and bothered about. On the whole, they handled the
logistics to my admittedly picky satisfaction.

Do they serve breakfast? If so, until what time?

thanks

Yes, breakfast will be served. But you will find if you hang around that you
are hanging out same as you will be if you are sitting at the airport.

Yes, they do serve breakfast. Our experience (mostly with HAL) has been
that breakfast was offered a little earlier than usual, selection was more
limited, & service was more rushed.

We recently did back to back on HAL. We did not have to get off the
ship between cruises.

They did serve breakfast until about 8:30.

Cruise ships are more pleasant places to hang out than airports.

Not really. Once you have been herded out of your cabin area and into
the mixed up waiting space often by the pool it is far less comfortable
than the usual airport. Fortunately it hasn't been for long.
