Carnival hints and tips
Hi all,
I'm taking my wife and 2 boys (11 & 5) on the Valor on May 13th and was wondering if there's anything we should know that's not in the official material? We have sailed on the Disney Magic in October of 2005 and liked the beverage station, but I know Carnival doesn't do that and sells some type of fountain card instead. Also know that the Camp Carnival is pay after 10pm instead of all the time. However, I'm sure there are more "insider" tips for those of us who haven't cruised on the Valor before. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Carnival has beverage stations set up in the buffet dining room and out by the pool grill area which are self serve, but don't include carbonated beverages. So, if iced tea and lemonade (they may possibly have fruit punch too...and juices at breakfast) work for you, those are not extra cost. No beverage fountain card needed. If yo're going to be drinking a lot of soda, the fountain card may pay for itself - you'll have to crunch the numbers for yourself. Also know that the Camp Carnival is pay after 10pm instead of all the time. This I wasn't aware of. They'll charge for private babysitting, but I wasn't aware of a charge for late night activities through Camp Carnival. I brought my niece on a Carnival cruise several years ago (she was probably 13 at the time) and was not charged for any of the later planned activities. Maybe the extra fee is something specifically for younger kids??? However, I'm sure there are more "insider" tips for those of us who haven't cruised on the Valor before. If I ever cruise Carnival again, I'll probably bring along my own beach towels - I don't like their towel policy. Have a great cruise! Thanks in advance for any help! |

Carnival hints and tips
The subject of Fountain Cards comes up often in here. Just a thought
but, A family traveling with multi kids whats to stop them from buying just 1 fountain card and having all the kids share it. I know its just a sticker on one of the cards but each kid share the same card each time they want a soda. |

Hi, I guess there is nothing to prevent you from doing that if you want to teach your children how to cheat and steal. Well now I guess were talking ethics. So I would guess that if you (Ray
& Lee) were walking the decks and found a $500 casino chip (and nobody was around) you would return it to the casino and not cash it in? Personal Integrity says its the right thing to do. Because we all know if you cashed it in your intregrity would say you were a cheet. So lets see what your moral fiber is made of. |

For me, absolutely and without a shadow of doubt I would hand it in. Why do you even raise such a question? What would YOU do? -- SJF |
