My daughter will be travelling north of Brisbane and will not have access to
a computer. Are there places where she can send her digital pictures home or
burn them onto cd's?

Um, yes, there are.

But you might want to be more specific. North of Brisbane includes an
awful lot of the country, and away from the coast the population and
town sizes become a lot smaller.

Nearly any town of reasonable size will have an internet cafe, or a
photo shop or equivalent. On my travels overseas, I had some of the
films burned to CDs as I had them developed, then mailed the CDs home.

Cheers, Alan

Computers can only be used in Australia after the weekly koala races, to
avoid internet gambling.

most major hotels provide a PC (downstairs) complimentary for their guests
.... if she is ever in one of these hotels she can hook the camera up to a
USB port, provided that she has a USB cable on her ... then she can e-mail
the pics using a Hotmail e-mail account accessible from *anywhere* ...

Yes!! just about any town with a population of more than 5,000 - and there
are plenty of such towns - will have an internet cafe or other 'public
access' computer facility.

Ignore the others, it is just that quirky Australian sense of humour,
even if they aren't all Australian!

95% of photo developping shops will also give a CD at the same time
for only a Pacific Peso or so more than the straight developping
charge. Armed with the CD, she should be able to access any public
access internet terminal and email the pictures home that way.
