Offensive reader review "Jew Down"
wrote in message ups.com... That is common colloquial usage. Not offensive. The same way urban folk bandy the "N" word about and use the phrase "my N*****" as a term of endearment. wrote: The term "Jew Down" is so very offensive. How could people not see this? Sorry, Jim, I have to disagree with you..It is offensive...Ethnic slurs are not necessary in order to express oneself...They are hurtful and in very poor taste..There is enough divisiveness in this world as it is. After having read the review on Cruise Critic, I cannot help but believe that it was written by an excited young woman who sounded as if she just came off her first cruise or has not cruised often...She tended to *lecture* in parts of her review, not realizing that many of the readers might be experienced cruisers, probably not even thinking when she did it and while trying to be helpful to others who may have benefited from her experiences...She could have worded the part of *bargaining * for better or low prices in a much more tactful way... Then write to the author and ask HER to change it.

Offensive reader review on Cruise Critic
I found the review informative and somewhat well written. The people left
their kids at home on their 5th anniversary; that does not make them monsters. As far as the "Jew them down" comment; I never would have noticed it.....I guess some people are way to sensitive. I can't wait for the days of all this silly politically correctness to be over. Give me a break! "shoreguy" wrote in message ... How hard is to post a link if you want to talk about a review: http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberre...?EntryID=18708 wrote in message ... I often read the member reviews on Cruise Critic board and find them helpful and enjoyable. The most recent reader review of the Caribbean Princess I found offensive. Take a look at it and see what you think. It is the latest member review posted today I believe. |

From the ages of the kids and the age of the reviewer, the kids can
very well live with their mom and may not even able to make the cruise for other reasons. Michelle Robinson wrote: I found the review informative and somewhat well written. Since when is being "Jewish" indicative of one's "ethnicity"????????? "Jewish" is a religion affiliation, NOT relative to an "ethnic status"!! |

Definition of ethnic: Of or relating to a sizable group of people sharing a common and distinctive racial, national, religious, linguistic, or cultural heritage. Go away, Bigot! As usual, hiding your prejudice under a anonymous name. Another one for the killfile. |

Offensive reader review on Cruise Critic
Exactly what I am saying! It is not derogatory or racist in the context of
how it was written. Do you think that the writer intended to be mean spirited or be racist? People use language that has been instilled since birth. I am not saying it is a correct usage of the English language, only that we have a more serious problem with the real racists, homo-haters, and religious fundamentalists. Why take offense to a trivial mis-use of words? "Bill" wrote in message ... Michelle Robinson wrote: I found the review informative and somewhat well written.
