Then write to the author and ask HER to change it.

OK, it seems almost all have missed the point. By the way I do not
fault Cruise Critic it is a good and helpful site. It was the ignorance
of the poster that I took issue with.

I found the review informative and somewhat well written. The people left
their kids at home on their 5th anniversary; that does not make them
monsters. As far as the "Jew them down" comment; I never would have noticed
it.....I guess some people are way to sensitive. I can't wait for the days
of all this silly politically correctness to be over. Give me a break!

I often read the member reviews on Cruise Critic board and find them
helpful and enjoyable. The most recent reader review of the Caribbean
Princess I found offensive. Take a look at it and see what you think.
It is the latest member review posted today I believe.

From the ages of the kids and the age of the reviewer, the kids can
very well live with their mom and may not even able to make the cruise
for other reasons.

Sorry, Jim, I have to disagree with you..It is offensive...Ethnic slurs are
not necessary in order to express oneself...They are hurtful and in very

Since when is being "Jewish" indicative of one's "ethnicity"?????????

"Jewish" is a religion affiliation, NOT relative to an "ethnic status"!!

Definition of ethnic:

Of or relating to a sizable group of people sharing a common and distinctive
racial, national, religious, linguistic, or cultural heritage.

Go away, Bigot! As usual, hiding your prejudice under a anonymous name.
Another one for the killfile.

Sorry, but the OP is correct, it IS derogatory and racist (in an
ethnic/religious way).

Exactly what I am saying! It is not derogatory or racist in the context of
how it was written. Do you think that the writer intended to be mean
spirited or be racist? People use language that has been instilled since
birth. I am not saying it is a correct usage of the English language, only
that we have a more serious problem with the real racists, homo-haters, and
religious fundamentalists. Why take offense to a trivial mis-use of words?
