Default Celebrity Mercury

Back from our 12 day cruise on mercury, what a nice ship, plenty of places
to sit and watch the cean, especially we found 3 decks where we could sit
on the back of the ship on lounges and watch the wake from the
ship, something that is very rare anymore.
Food good, shows some really nice and a couple bloopers. hp kept in a-one
condition, and no matter where you went on the ship there was someone to
dispense purell into your hands. You could not go into the buffet,or
dining rooms without someone giving you a handful. Weather
perfect, except for first day,and the last both were quite cool, needed
sweat shirts and jackets to go on deck.
You all have read about the tour from the ship that was robbed,we met
some people that were on the bus,and they said it was quite scary. they
lost $300.00 their cell phones and her wedding and engagement rings. One
women had a very small child with her,and the little one was so scared
she kept crying, and the bandit with the machete told her to shut her up
or he would do it for her and she would never cry again.
We went on a tour n our own,and the tour operator told us he would have
his driver take just the two of us on a van that held 16 people, The
driver told us after starting out his name was THE ICEMAN we were a
little leery at first, but he turned out to be the nicest person you
would want to meet. just goes to show you that you are not as safe on a
ship tour as you think you are.
We had a very enjoyable cruise, and are sorry they are getting rid of the
mercury, there are not many ships around anymore that can offer you the
things they did. The crew was
outstanding,as was our cabin steward, and he earned himself a very nice
extra tip. We
were docked next to the explorer of the seas, westerdam,& emerald
princess. We had been on all of them.
It was hot-hot-hot on all the islands, but that is what we went for. The
only fly in the ointment was,my husband came down with a cold the day we
had to pack to come home, and the drive from baltimore to new jersey was
tiring for him,so i was glad to see home.
I am hoping i do not come down with it,have lots of things to catch up
on. Celebrity is going to have a ship do the
meditterean from cape liberty, and we hope to find out more about that.
Thats all for now

Good ship report. Which islands did you visit? Also you say that the
Mercury offers things that other ships don't. Could you expand on that
a bit? Give us a "fer instance".

The for instance on the mercury, they had nice places tosit on the back
of the ship on 3 decks to watch the wake of the ship, and a couple nice
places with music that you could dance to at all times, and a ver nice
place to sit by the hot tub on deck11 where you got what we call
HOMEMADE pasta and sauce. Also a daily short newspaper telling you what
was going on in the world.

Annie, you should try one of the Millennium class Celebrity ships
(Summit, Millenium, Infinity or Constellation). Or even Century, which
is a sister ship (although slightly different) to Mercury. Most have
similar places, except for maybe the lower aft area. The aquaspa area
has food like you mention, though it's in the front on the Millie ships.
