Default ? SuperClubs vs. Sandals

My wife and I have been to both resort chains on a number of occaisions. I
will assume we are talking about Sandals v SuperClubs - so I will not bring
other properties of each chain into comparison (Beaches and Negril Gardens
for Sandals, Starfish Resorts for SuperClubs).

While both are nice, we prefer SuperClubs overall. Keep in mind though there
is wider variation in amenities in the SuperClubs line than in the Sandals
line. In other words Breezes Montego Bay does not compare well to any of
the Sandals resorts, however IMO the Sandals resorts are for the most part
unable to compete with the SuperClubs Grand Lido line of resorts.
SuperClubs higher end Lido's stand out, but Breezes MoBay at the lower end
of the line holds little appeal for me.

In the middle range of these brands I prefer SuperClubs because they tend to
be more active and fun. Even though we have been married for a long time my
wife and I agree that the presence of single guys and girls adds some fun
and activity to these resorts not found at Sandals (since they allow couples
only). Also the theme parties at SuperClubs are just plain more fun than
those at Sandals for us. Everyone who is not offended by nudity should
attend at least one Hedo Pajama Party! But there are more tame versions of
these same parties at the other SuperClubs resorts too.

Having said that if I were on my Honeymoon and seeking a more quiet, more
romantic getaway then I may well lean toward Sandals or perhaps a Couples
brand resort ( if I did not want to pay the extra for a Lido!)

One last distinction.. while there is topless sun bathing for the ladies at
almost any resort in Jamaica , there is a nude beach area at all of the
SuperClubs (except Breezes Montego Bay - a resort I avoid for many reasons).
So if you are looking for a chance to try a nude beach (SuperClubs), or
looking to avoid being exposed to one (Sandals) you may need to consider
this in your choice.

Respect!
