Default Children - More OT Kids $tuff that hits home

It's not just toys, food, movies, tv, clothes or disney anymore. Giant
companies realize that just about everyone has kids. Industries that once
catered to the well to do have decided to get in on the act. Cruise lines now
offer just about anything the average schmuck's snot nosed brat would like as a
reason for the parents (and in more cases these days, the Parent in the
singular) to turn the wallet upside down. Marketing for the child and child's
parent(s) is BIG BUSINESS. Who gives a crap what kind of vacation you have as
long as you part with your money. Oh quick, buy the latest new fad that all the
kids are whining for. Spend, Spend $pend! It's not just limited to Cruise
Ships, look at Las Vegas. It's just about become another Disneyland...gee I
wonder why? I remember when Vegas was a place for adults only. Cruise ships had
children in small numbers. Online services were too pricey for only an elite
few. Now it's kids kids kids, everywhere you look kids. These "soccer moms"
driving a glorified school bus packed to the luggage racks with you guessed
it.....kids. For every person who dies, 10 new kids add to the already
cluttered world. BIG BUSINESS. Why do you think the cruise lines that cost the
most have the least amount of kids? Anything that's made to appeal to kids will
make money and you can bet that the class of people will be alot different than
those people who are sailing the "kidless" ships. Why do you think there are so
few classy cruises left to go on? THEY DON'T CATER TO KID$. The price of a
quiet, sane and mature vacation has skyrocketed thanks to kids. You go on
vacation to "get away from it all". Well my idea of a vacation is NOT going
away on vacation with someone else's kids. If you love kids so much, then get a
teaching job, daycare work or a job at Disney World. Please explain why ANYONE
would enjoy being near someone else's kids when you are confined on a cruise
ship which is a very public place with limited space. You can't. But Big
Business can.

Actually - Vegas is reverting to it's raunchy roots. Slowly, but surely.

It's getting less kid friendly.

TBird --- not a Vegas kinda person either way

It's obvious that the cruise lines will have to cater to the kids & their
parents in order to survive & there's not that much the others can do except
cruise in the off season & continue to write the cruise lines about the
problems they create - At least the ships are offering programs to keep the
kids occupied most of the day.
