And Phnom Penh is a pretty cool and friendly place, so it'd be a shame to miss it. It used to be a very dangerous place a couple of years ago from what I've heard. It also happened a few years ago that the boat over the lake was attacked by pirates. -- Alfred Molon http://www.molon.de/Galleries.htm - Photos from Myanmar, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, Egypt, Austria, Budapest and Portugal |

Yes they do - I'm trying to find out if there is an alternative that doesn't
cost 33,000 baht for 2 adults and 1 child but doesn't take all day to get there. "Harry" wrote in message om... I think that Bangkok Airways or Air Siem Reap is covering that route. I flew Bangkok Airways from BKK to Yangoon and it was very convenient. Maybe the LCC carrier Airasia makes the run as well. cheers, harr |

Just when I was thinking that sounded like a good option!

It still is a good option.
These people are talking about events that happened 4 years ago. Cambodia has changed massively in that time. Heck only 7 years ago getting taken hostage by the Khmer Rouge was a legitimate concern. These days it's no more dangerous than Thailand (IMO). Grab the latest Lonely Planet for Cambodia and have a read. Even better, compare the 1996 and current LPs to see how much the place has changed.
