Muslim-run accommodation in Munich?
My wife and I will be going to Munich in the spring, partly to meet up
with someone she knows ("friend" would be putting it a bit strongly). This person is getting sucked into the German anti-Islamic thing. We could stay with her but we'd rather have the option of getting away from a conversational repertoire which is 50-50 sectarian feminism and the Daily Mail. And it would be nice to make a certain point. Anyone know of midrange B&Bs run by Muslims in Munich? Bonus points for framed Koranic inscriptions in the lobby and the owners speaking Turkish (which I know a lot better than German) or maybe Kurdish (which I'd like to learn more of). Can't afford places aimed at Gulf oilmen; can afford better than places aimed at workers straight off the bus from Diyarbakir. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- e m a i l : j a c k @ c a m p i n . m e . u k Jack Campin, 11 Third Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian EH22 4PU, Scotland mobile 07800 739 557 http://www.campin.me.uk Twitter: JackCampin |

I wouldn't know, but maybe in the area near the central train station, where there is a sizable number of shops run by ethnic Turks, there is such a place. -- Alfred Molon http://www.molon.de - Photos of Asia, Africa and Europe |

No, but I can suggest a Mexican bar-restaurant in Duesseldorf run by a Palestinian. (This is not a joke) There used to be a "Murphy's Pakora Bar" in Glasgow, and a bit later a "Three in One" takeaway that did Indian, Turkish and Chinese food (or was it Indian, Chinese and pizza? it's gone now). and an Iraq restaurant run by an Iraqi, an Iranian and a Syrian in Leiden. Their kebabs rotate on the Axis of Evil? (I see there are now North Korean restaurants too: https://nkleadershipwatch.wordpress....new-ownership/ Maybe one of our Amsterdam regulars could try it? But they probably don't offer dog, which is a pity). I've tried searching in Turkish, but while I can find lots of tours to Munich from Turkey, none of them say what accommodation they use. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- e m a i l : j a c k @ c a m p i n . m e . u k Jack Campin, 11 Third Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian EH22 4PU, Scotland mobile 07800 739 557 http://www.campin.me.uk Twitter: JackCampin |

Jack Campin wrote: Maybe one of our Amsterdam regulars could try it? But they probably don't offer dog, which is a pity). Do Muslims eat dog? I thought dogs were considered "unclean". We had a couple of Muslim care-givers in the senior retirement home where I live, but they had to fire them because they refused to enter apartments where the resident had a dog. (Apparently cats are okay - perhaps the urban legend about the Prophet cutting off his sleeve, rather than disturb a sleeping cat, may be true?) |

Muslim-run accommodation in Munich?
[link to a story about a North Korean restaurant in Amsterdam]
Maybe one of our Amsterdam regulars could try it? But they probably don't offer dog, which is a pity). Do Muslims eat dog? You may be having reading comprehension issues, as you ignored this link in Campin's post: Didn't "overlook", can't receive attachments. (Also, the thread I was following was about MUSLIM accommodations and restaurants.) It wasn't an attachment, it was a URL. My news provider wouldn't let me post attachments to a non-binary group even if I wanted to and could get my newsreader to do it. The Daily Mail doesn't provide any serious evidence for their suggestion that North Korea is interested in opening a restaurant in Scotland. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- e m a i l : j a c k @ c a m p i n . m e . u k Jack Campin, 11 Third Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian EH22 4PU, Scotland mobile 07800 739 557 http://www.campin.me.uk Twitter: JackCampin |
