Default Luxury hotels in France

My lovely girlfriend and I are planning to go to Paris in March but we're
struggling to find a fab hotel and I wonder if anyone's got any ideas...

All the luxury hotels I've seen are grand enough, but they look like a
tarted up old person's house! What I'm looking for is plush, luxurious, but
less like my Nan's sitting parlour!

Anyone got any great thoughts?

You could do a lot worse than the Radisson SAS Hotel Champs Elysees.

The Kube Hotel.

It would be helpful if you tell us which ones you have already seen &
rejected. Are you looking for modern hotels? What is your budget?

I'm not sure I know what "luxurious" means, but here are a couple of very
stylish hotels that I like:

Castille Paris
Pershing Hall
Hotel Lancaster

What I'm looking for is a very plush hotel but without it feeling 'old'. No
budget in particular but probably 500 Euros per night. Put those two
criteria together and I'm struggling slightly, and I've looked at about 400
hotels so far. Any other city - not a problem but Paris is causing me a
headache!

Castille - Looks great on their website, looks vile and lacking in fabric on
TripAdvisor
Pershing Hall - Lovely, but it could be anywhere. You wouldn't know you're
in Paris
Hotel Lancaster - It's approaching that 'old without being grand' thing

Looks lovely and if it were my choice I'd probably book it but I'm afraid
it's not to her taste. It's a bit lacking in personality, could be anywhere
in the world if you know what I mean...

Palais Trianon AKA Trianon Palace in Versailles is pretty classy, there is
a
nice park next door too. Almost fit for a king. Gordon Ramsay may open a
restuarant there soon.

You might also like Le Faubourg but I don't think this is what the OP was
looking for... Too "grand-mère"?

It's similar to the other hotels I'm having issue with - fantastic, opulent,
modern public spaces but empty and dated bedrooms. She loves grand, got no
problem with that but things just look a bit... cold and empty really.

The OP might prefer:

We considered that but it *is* more my thing than hers!

The Kube Hotel.

It might end up being.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I think the best we've found so far are Le
Crillon, the Four Seasons or rather bizarrely the Pary Hyatt.

If anyone's got any more suggestions though, I'd love to hear 'em.

Although you might want to make 'Pary' 'Park'!

The absolute best is the Georges V, and as a bonus, Fouquet's Cafe /
Braserie is right around the corner. Hmmm ... seems to me that
Fouquet's Hotel must be open by now, across the street from the Georges
V. They have been working on it since the last century ... Good news
stand on the sidewalk outside, too. And an English-language cinema,
although your time might be better spent in restaurants and museums ...
or bars?
