Mexico City Suggestions
I am planning a solo visit to Mexico City, and any opinions would be
appreciated concerning budget motels, favorite places to eat, sights to see/skip, safety considreations and so on. Thanks Ken |

I have stayed at the Best Western Hotel Ritz on Avenida Madero just 2
blocks from the zocalo a number of times and like it a lot for price and location. Must sees---Of course the zocalo and guided tour of the palacio federal is great to understand the Diego Revera murals. Also a drink at 5 pm from roof of Hotel Presidente is also great to watch the soldiers take down the flag. Other must sees are Teotihuacan and Xochimilco as well as the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Also if you have time and are on the right day the Ballet Folklorico at the Belles Artes is great. Also, Puebla is nice and you can catch a bus there from the airport if you have time. Also Queretaro has a bus from the airport and it only takes 2 hours. Have fun. |
