Default Manhattan to Islip for Southwest flight to BWI

I'm going to NYC and DC in a few weeks, and I was amazed to see the high
fares on Amtrak.

I was thinking of using Southwest from Islip to BWI, as it's only $29
each way.

Is it practical to take the LIRR from Penn Station to Ronkonkoma and
then go to the Islip airport? Is there a shuttle van from the station to
the airport, or how much would a cab cost?

It will take you about as long to get to Islip as it will to take the
Acela to DC. If you are on a budget you would be better of taking the
bus to DC from NYC; you will get there faster. You can even look into
Chinatown bus services, which can be as low as $15.

If you still want to do it, all the information you need is he
