I took a trip two or three years ago, returning mid November through Colorado and was just able to pass through the Rocky Mountains before they closed the highway and was snowed in on the eastern side. Couldn't find snow chains anywhere, so I purchased heavy duty snowmobile boots .... just in case I got stuck somewhere, figuring at least I could walk my way out to safety. grin |

We did OKC to LA in two and a half days of driving using I-40 this past June. You could do it in two if you pushed it. (For example, we stopped in Albuquerque about 4PM because we needed to do some shopping and hit AAA there the next morning, but we could have made Flagstaff that day.) -- Evelyn C. You travel south, and then pick up I-10 in El Paso, and head to LA.
