Default Washington DC suggestions?

Hi

Visiting Washington DC for a 5 day vacation at the end of the month.

Can you suggest some "not to be missed" touristy things to do/visit?

Gary

Default Washington DC suggestions?

On 10/04/2003 3:10 AM while directing tourists to the Zazu
Pits, was inclined to say:

Hi

Gary

The Rosemary Woods National Monument, you can't miss it -- it's a giant
tape erase head.
The Monica Lewinsky Designer Handbag, Thong and Cigar Emporium.
The Ronald Reagan Halls of Forgetfullness, don't stay too long, I can't
remember why.
The World's Biggest Dildoe, a/k/a The Washington Monument.
The Ollie North Dance Hall, where the Iran-Contra Tango was invented.

Well, ok, a lot of these things don't really exist (except the World's
Biggest Dildoe). But you have to admit a visit to D.C. would be even
more interesting if they did.

If you are a U. S. citizen, I can't think of a better thing to do than
visit your Senator and Congressman's offices. Contact their offices in
advance, to make an appointment. Pick a particular issue that concerns
you. Research it Pro and Con. Then talk to your elected
representative about it. When I did this on my visit to D. C. I
learned that while many representatives meet with professional
lobbyists -- they often prefer to meet with their constituents. This is
true also for those form letters and post cards they get, a handwritten
letter from a constituent is given more weight.

True this isn't the most "touristy" thing you could do. But, if you are
traveling with your family, it's a great experience in citizenship for
your children as well.
