Default Good Samaritan Laws

Good Sam Laws DO NOT prevent you from being sued. Anyone can file papers on
anyone else for any reason. GSLs only define to the courts what standard of
care each person is responsible for.

GSLs vary by state. In Maryland, if you are paid anything for the service
you are not covered in any aspect by the GSLs. If you volunteer your
time/materials to assist someone, negligence is judged by what someone with
equal training would have done in the same circumstances (first responder
EMT-B, Paramedic, MD, etc.)

If you have a legal duty to act, you can be sued if you do not act.

Are there laws in the US protecting you from being sued for negligence
if for whatever reason you were unsuccessful in helping at an
accident scene.
Cheers Ed
