Default My cruise has disappeared!

I booked a cruise back in March for my honeymoon in January. Since a couple
of my friends were just married and are now honeymooning in Curacao, I
wanted to check up on our honeymoon to make sure it wouldn't be a disaster.

I booked a 14 day cruise on Celebrity's Infinity that departs on January 3rd
from Ft. Lauderdale and arrives in Valparaiso, Chile on January 17. But now,
I've looked at Celebrity's website, and I can't find the cruise! The fleet
calendar shows a two month gap for the Infinity without any destinations!

I've tried looking at other websites, and the only one I found that still
has the cruise is Yahoo's travel page. It shows that everything but the
suites are sold out. Would this be the reason that I can't find the cruise
anywhere else? Or am I in serious trouble and need to find another
honeymoon?

I'll be able to call my travel agent tomorrow, but it would be good to know
what's happening so I can approach this properly... Thanks!

Gee, maybe you might pick up a phone and call the cruiseline. But then I might
be over thinking it, they work 24/7

I called Celebrity this morning after their 24/7 call center opened up at
8:30 edt, and I was told that the cruise still exists and has just sold out.

It's a little weird that it would just disappear from the website after
selling out -- with airlines you can usually still find sold out flights.
Plus the Infinity is the only ship in the fleet with any holes in its
schedule -- but maybe few of them sell out this far in advance?

Anyway, I feel a lot better now. And I'm pretty sure hurricanes won't be a
problem.

Hi,

As you discovered neither Royal Caribbean or Celebrity have 24-hour
call centers. OTOH, Carnival Cruises does have 24-hour call centers
but not the other Carnival brands. Cruise lines often take sold out
sailings out of their public displays. I am glad it worked out for
you. ;+)

Best regards,
Ray

Glad you got that straightened out! I think our Mercury sailing sold out
almost 2 months in advance (dang, was hoping to buy a cheap suite upgrade), but
glad to know your sailing still exists!

At least on their website HAL appears to mark categories "closed" on sold
out cruises and then doubles or triples the listed prices to reinforce the
point.

That's correct -- on Celebrity, if the original poster has her booking
ID number she can go register on the Celebrity web site, fill in her
documentation, book excursions, etc.

I'm not that familiar with the other cruise lines, but on HAL they have
special pages for guests who have already booked a cruise. To gain
entry you have to key in your booking number and some other
information. Then you can see updates to your itinerary if any and book
excursions or request special services.

Am I mistaken in thinking that other cruise lines offer similar to their
guests?

Never said to contact the call center, which most likley is out sourced to a
company working out of a warehouse in Ohio.

If I was as worried as you appeared in your post, I would have called the main
office, where ever it is. They ARE open 24/7.
