The Danube 2005 & 2006 in figures
In the 2005 season, 99 cruise liners plied the Danube.
In spite of some problems with high water levels, there was a general
increase in the number of cruise liner passengers.

Regensburg recorded 350 dockings by cruise liners. For the 2006 season, 390
dockings have been scheduled so far, with an average passenger volume of 100
persons per ship. In the 2005 season, Passau recorded a total of 87 ships
with 1,440 dockings and 170,000 passengers.
For the 2006 season, 90 ships and an approximate rise in passengers by
10,000 are expected.

Upper Austria recorded 399 dockings by cruise liners (as compared to 197
dockings in the previous season), with an estimated number of 100 passengers
per ship. With an increase in overnight stays by 3.4 percent to almost 7.4
million in the period between January and October 2005, Vienna is again
heading for record visitor numbers this year.

DDSG Blue Danube Vienna welcomed 16,000 passengers aboard its hydrofoil
between Vienna and Bratislava and 5,200 passengers to Budapest.
Donauschiffahrt Pyringer-Zopper Vienna reported 21,000 passengers, and
Donau-Schiffsstationen welcomed 36,000 cruisepassengers in Wien-Nussdorf.

In Slovakia, the P.A.D. Shipping Agency reported a slight increase in the
number of cruise liner passengers (27,307) and in the number of passengers
using the Hainburg-Theben- Bratislava escursion boat route, which is
particularly popular with bikers.

In total, Bratislava welcomed approximately 120,000 cabin-passengers. In the
2005 season, Belgrade recorded 410 dockings by cruise liners carrying 49,000
passengers as well as 220 dockings with about 26,000 passengers in Novi Sad.

Further increases are also expected for the 2006 season as five new ships
will be cruising the Danube: Amadeus Princess (Lüftner), Bellevue
(Transocean), Armadagio (Seachefs), Amazonica (Bonaventura/Quality) and
River Cloud II (Seacloud).
Two cruise liners will sail under new names: River Ambassador (formerly
known as Regina Rheni) and River Baronesse (formerly known as Queen of
Holland). Souce--- http://www.danube-river.org/en_home.html
