eTaiwan News: China Airlines Inaugurates Taipei-Seattle-Houston Route
eTaiwan News web site, citing Central News Agency, reported that China
Airlines will start flying a new Taipei-Seattle-Houston route. The first flight is scheduled to leave CKS International Airport in Taiwan at around 04:15pm on Thursday. Currently China Airlines, one of the largest carriers of Taiwan, will run three flights each week. Depending on market reactions, China Airlines might adjust the flight frequency accordingly. This is the first new route to the U.S. by CAL in the last 21 years. The last new route to the U.S. by a Taiwanese carrier is a Taipei-Seattle-Newark route opened by Eva Airways in 1993. This Taipei-Seattle-Houston route is also the first flight connecting Taiwan and Texas, not considering the code-shared flights.
