Shore excursions for Freeport and Nassau

Going on only my second cruise out of Jacksonville in November 2004 and will
docking at Freeport & Nassau. From what I have read on the Internet the
shore excursion offered by Carnival do not look all the promicing expecially
in Freeport.

I really want to take advantage of being in port I have never been and just
not staying on the ship while docked. For those who have been to Freeport
and Nassau, what do you recommend as sites to see, things to do??
