If you are in a common law relationship with an Australian, you may
apply for a de facto visa. If not married, relationship must be
genuine and you should be able to provide evidence detailing mutual
commitment - which includes the length of the relationship, social
aspects of the relationship, including pictures and the opinions of
family and friends about the relationship. An Australia de facto visa
or partner visa generally takes 3 to 10 months of processing. Visit

While the fiancé - prospective Australian spouse visa requires that
you must be intending to come to Australia to marry an Australian
citizen or a permanent residence. Marriage should be known by family
and friends and you must agree to marry within 9 months of entering
Australia and will be granted a 9 month temporary visa for this
