On health care, you are somewhat confused. Health is a prerogative of
the provinces. And yes, we damn want our single payer health insurance
program to stay. It works and it's cost-effective.

The way Canada affords it is by making people wait so long that most die
before seeing a doctor.

Reality is having a gall bladder problem and when the tests are all in there
is no problem. Lucky for me the ultra sound tech said that I have gall
stones(she wasn't supposed to say anything concerning a patients well
being). Otherwise I would have been in crippling pain for the rest of my
life. It boggles my mind how the pathologist can read the report that says
I have gallstones and then on the report that goes to family doc it says
that I have no health problems at all.

Actually BOTH are real crocks. While handguns have been registered in canada for
about 70 years there is NO evidence whatsoever that this registration has
prevented crimes with handguns. Former Deputy PM, Herb Grey attested to THAT fact
in the House of Commons.

We should have plenty of training in Canada for licensed firearms users, AND
especially in the type of firearms they want to use/operate.

After I completed my restricted weapons PAL (ie for handguns etc) I looked at the
old requirements for my firearms Boy Scouts of canada merit badge. I could not
pass the requirements for that badge by taking the PAL restricted course. I knew
(and did) more in the 1960s for that Boy Scouts badge than was on the current
PAL exam. The Canadian badge that is now no longer awarded had the same
requirements as the current Boy Scouts of America badge.

The PAL exam is trivial, as is the police "investigation" of the PAL applicant.
