Identification rules for Hotels in Canada
"Dave Smith" schrieb
I have never been asked for photo ID in a restaurant in Canada. Me neither. But the motels I stayed in always wanted my Credit Card, and the lincense plate number and model of the car (I guess that's just to prevent others from parking on their premises - a brief walk around the parking lot in the evening: Yes, they all belong here) The only time I ever had to show ID was in Italy where they wanted my passport. In a restaurant? That was probably together with the Credit Card to make sure it's not stolen? Or in a hotel? Yes, that's compulsory, and the hotel owner would get in deep trouble if he couldn't present an ID card-, or passport- or whatever - number in his books for every guest. Jochen from Potsdam |
