Default Stamford CT AMTRAK parking ?

I need to take AMTRAK to Boston, and I will be driving to the AMTRAK
station from Long Island. So my choices are either NYC or Stamford. I
know what the traffic and parking is like in NYC (bad), but what is the
parking situation in Stamford? Is there reasonable overnight parking
and is it always available? I would be leaving Friday afternoon and
coming back on Sunday. Would appreciate any information. I'd hate to
arrive in Stamford and discover that there is no place to park.
Thanks.

The complication is that I will not be returning to Long Island, so I
can't leave my car on Long Island. I'm returning to New Jersey. I
considered Metropark is it's further from Boston than NYC or Stamford.

you should consider flying from islip

There is a big parking garage there, but I have no idea what it costs. It's
managed by Pro-Park.

If you're anywhere near Port Jeff on the island, consider taking the ferry
over to Bridgeport and avoid the hassle of going around altogether.

Whether or not it is available depends on when you get there. I believe
it fills up nearly every day with commuters. There is an overflow
garage a few blocks away.
