Snip:
Midway Airport passengers and those who greet them would face higher
parking fees and food prices -- but a wider choice of concessions and
flights -- under a historic privatization plan cleared for takeoff
Wednesday.

The thriving but landlocked Southwest Side airport-in-a-neighborhood
that came back from the dead is officially up for sale.

Four days after issuing a request for proposals to operate Chicago
parking meters, Mayor Daley did the same for Midway Airport. That sets
in motion a yearlong process that could end with a $3 billion windfall
to shore up city pensions and rebuild Chicago's aging infrastructure.
