As long as there are more supervisors than workers, and everyone wears
hardhats, they could steal Big Ben and no one would raise an eyebrow.

Well they did steal the Scone stone from under the Coronation Throne
in Westminster Abbey, in the 1950s I think, hopped up to Scotland
with it.

dung beetle by the artist Wendy Taylor. In between, there was a seven-foot

Comments; If thieves are able to haul away two tons of statuary without
being caught, this does not speak well for police services. The article
indicates that this is an often committed type of crime.

Maybe they should ask for aid from Bush's terrorists chasers who have
tapped every telephone in the world.

Visitors to Europe should certainly be advised not to bring large,

but not so easy to snatch as a mobile phone or an iPod.

Nor should the Brits bring garden dwarfs, they are subject to
liberation. (the DLM).

I wish someone would liberate the many garden dwarfs (and an
occasional Snow White or Bambi) in my town.

When I lived in Saudi Arabia one front yard was full of pink plastic
flamingoes. They mysteriously vanished one night, and for years
afterwards the residents would get anonymous pictures from all around
the world of their globe-trotting former flamingoes posed in front of
easily recognized places.

I must say, as victim of dwarf theft (our daughter had one we gave her

not had closure over this theft. The dwarf has NOT returned to its
duties of garden guarding.

I know that my wife would divorce me if I gave her a garden gnome! Is
it possible that your daughter disposed of it herself and claimed theft
not to displease you? By the way, the Saudi flamingoes never returned
either, I'm happy to say.

That's a very old prank.
