Default ATM pin code

Do ATMs in Australia accept cards with security code that contains more than 4 digits?

Thanks!

Australia is a society that values freedom. You may enter as many digits
as you please.

Australians may put their garbage bins out for collection any time they
please. And the garbage collectors can collect the bins any day THEY
please.

Here it happens to be Friday, but do not think that Australians are
lined up and regimented.

The short answer to your question is yes.

But will the ATM accept the card after I enter more than 4 digits?

the pin code actual number is coded on the card, the teller machine will
accept the number coded on the card regardless of length up to the capacity
of that area of the data stipe
