Arguable. You can say that the S in GPS refers to the system of
satellites that enable the receiver/computer unit to determine its
position, while the last word refers to the receiver/computer unit
as a system. It's like "LCD display": the screen is made up of many
small components, and you can take the D (standing for display) as
referring to one of these, and the second "display" as the whole.

In any case, off-topic for this group, so I'll shut up now.
