Star Gazing Area near Chicago
Looking for the nearest location to Chicago that would have the best night
sky for "star gazing". Having spent my life in suburban areas I have never had the opportunity to see the stars against a totally black sky. Don't care how far from Chicago I need to go, just looking for the closest place. I'm guessing that somewhere in NW Wisconsin might fill the bill but still don't know where.

Looking for the nearest location to Chicago that would have the best night sky for "star gazing". You might want to contact a local observatory or astronomy club or science museum; they would know the best nearby locations. James
