Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe Steam Railcam goes live
We are pleased to announce that the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe Railcam
went live today here in George in South Africa. This has been talk from me for the last 5 years, but finally it has happened. The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam hauled passenger train is one of the last operational steam trains in the world, so these photos are absolutely gems by rail terms today. Date: 15 Dec - 13 Jan From Monday to Saturday at these approx times (GMT+2) the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe will go past this webcam: * 10:17 * 11:31 * 13:17 * 14:25 Due to the excessive flood damage the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe is only operational to the seaside town of Hartenbos and not Knysna. We expect at least another year before that line is opened due to slippage at Kaaimans Pass area, spot the slippage on the A-frame house on the Kaaimans Pass webcam, which is in danger of collapse. Just a matter of time and notice the rocks on the line. You will see Class 19D & Class 24 steam locomotives builtin the late 1940 by Northern British Locomotive and others Plus the Diesel Locomotives from General Electric namely the class 32, 33, 34 & 35 diesel locomotives which normally pulls the freight from George to Voorbaai (close to Mossel Bay) Future developments: * Video clips with sound, awaiting for firmware release of camera Regards Justin Miles Midafricam Webcam team in South Africa Web : http://www.midafricam.co.za/main |
