Marco Island
Hi all
We are coming over for 2 weeks shortly to stay at Marco Island. Can anyone give me some advice on things to do/places to go. There are 3 families so it's a fairly mixed bag - ideas on all areas would be greatly appreciated {we have transport so don't mind travelling out}. Regards Tony |

Marco Island
Can anyone give me some advice on things to do/places to go. Naples is nearby, of course: upscale shopping, good restaurants, small pier, and beach; Corkscrew Swamp for nature; Greyhound races are nearby. Fort Myers Beach has restaurants and shops in a walkable area. Go to the indoor/outdoor Greek restaurant just south of the pier. Thomas Edison's home is open to the public at Fort Myers. Sanibel Island close to Fort Myers has a fine nature preserve; rent bicycles there and ride all through it (paved paths, but you can go off the paths). Watch the sun set on Sanibel or Captiva Island. Both are well known for some of the world's best sea-shells. Do you already have reservations at Marco Island? I find it dull frankly; it's mostly residential. Naples is fine, but better as a day trip from Fort Myers, which I'd suggest instead. |

Sports include the usual aquatic activities such as swimming, snockling, skiing, boating, etc. And tennis. There's a pretty nice municipal tennis center that has daily clinics, etc. Otherwise, Marco is a snozze, notable mainly for the mosquitos (live and on the T-shirts). -- Larry ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Head across Alligator Alley to the Indian Reservation. Go on the
Billie Swamp buggies and airboats to see the Everglades wildlife and visit the Indian Museum on the reservation. Visit the Mirimar Outlet on I 75 to shop. Take the kids and go to the dog races in Bonita Springs. Visit the Teddy Bear Museum in Naples. Take a day trip to Key West via high speed boat from Ft. Myers. Take a deep sea fishing charter from any marina. Relax and enjoy the quiet beach. Enjoy your trip, Shelly in FL |
