Default west coast holiday destination

Are there any areas near San Francisco that would be suitable?

Keep in mind many visitors to San Francisco are surprised that the city
isn't as warm as they thought it would be.

There's a quote from Mark Twain that goes something like "The coldest
winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco."

Some googling should yield you the monthly highs and lows.

You might be happier further south in San Diego.
