Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania
My daughter is working in Kampala and has August off, so I am going to visit
her for the last three weeks. My main interests are photography (wildlife and landscapes). I want to spend a day looking for gorillas, but other than that do not have any specific plans. I know this is very similar to another thread that is circulating and I have read that, but am looking for suggestions when you have to start and end in Kampala and want to include a little time in the southwest of Uganda or Rwanda for gorillas. All my other trips have been to southern Africa and I would like to see something a little different from Kruger, Hwange and Kgalagadi. Thanks for any suggestions. Scott |

Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania
We did a weeklong trip with Volcanoes last year. Had our own driver for a
week and started in Kampala. Went to Queen Elizabeth N.P. and to Bwindi (south west) and returned to Kampala. Bwindi to see the gorillas. Volcanoes operation in Bwindi is a great little place. I only wished we had planned a day or two more there. But you need a special interest for (rain)forests to want extra time. The scenery in south west is beautiful: Small farms (little plots really) with hilly to mountanous terrain. Queen Elizabeth N.P. is nothing like the Serengeti but quite nice. Don't set your expectations too high. What is great though, is that you will have a chance to see chimps nearby. I believe the Volcanoes operation is owned by a Brit. They have a gorilla operation in Rwanda also. Hope that helps. "Scott Elliot" wrote in message news:RlGVf.8910$K11.6334@clgrps12... Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania
Hi Scott,
We focus more on the southern end of Africa, but take a look at our website anyway (if only for the wildlife photography). There is an email link on the site if you'd like more information on any of the areas. http://africanexcursions.com From a saftely point of view, I would caution that you research your exact location in Uganda or Rwanda; and try to get some local feedback from those areas. -Grant |

Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania
Thanks Grant. You are correct, the photos on your site are great.
My daughter is teaching in Kampala and her employer has more or less written into her contract that she cannot travel to the north of Uganda and it is a little vague if she can or cannot go into Rwanda. Some of her friends went to Rwanda anyway and had no problems. They seem much more comfortable with her going to Kenya or Tanzania. Scott wrote in message ups.com...
